Glad for the update

I hadnt used the app in a while and had reason to reinstall it just a couple weeks ago. Thats when I realized the last update was before even adapting to the iPhone 5 screen. It still worked, which was impressive all things considered. Its great to see an update that covers all the modern devices.

Not noise/sound canceling

Goodbye $5 It just sorta makes more noise. The louder the outside noise the louder its noise gets on your headphones. This is the bad air freshener of noise filters. It doesnt make it better but it will try and drown out everything else. Sadly it cant even do that very well. I found the sounds/noises it produces even more annoying than just ambient sounds. Doesnt wast your money, buy a pair of active noise canceling headphones.

Pretty but ineffective.

The lengthy marketing spiel in the description obfuscates what this app actually does. Simply put, it provides seven presets of base sound that increase in volume in response to sounds picked up by the microphone. This doesnt provide silence, but trades external noise for headphone noise. There is a significant delay in responsiveness which isnt noticeable for constant sounds like the hum of conversation but very distracting for sound spikes, like a door closing. I purchased it for use while reading in noisy environments, but I find that my older method of playing instrumental music is far more effective.

Does what it says

This app listens to your background noise and then outputs some gentle white noise and a subtle remix of voices or specific noises in your environment. This helps keep the user from being distracted by conversations and voices since the remix of ambient sounds makes the voices sound more like babble, so that you cant focus on them intentionally or subconsciously. I use this app in addition to noise canceling headphones to keep nearby conversations from distracting me as much in my cubicle. Noise canceling apps & headphones dont cancel out human speech yet, so this is a great first step in the right direction.

A solid noise canceling option

Though rarely updated, this app has consistently performed, delivering new sound masking options and keeping abreast of iOS application best practices.

Thoroughly unimpressed

I sit near some fairly noisy computer servers at work. I bought this app in the hopes of masking even some of the noise. All I got was an extra dose of manufactured white noise. Waste of $5

Useless. Waste of money.

I try to use this app to cancel the noise from a cutting machine. The machine generating similar frequency noise. This app cannot filter out any noise. Useless. I want my money back.

Useless

Useless. Congrats on collecting my 4.99.

Don’t waste your money

Looking for some relief from noise in the environment while traveling, I reluctantly purchased this. Long story short - app adds MORE noise to whatever is already in the environment. Instead of paying for this app you will be much better off getting a free white noise generator or even better - buy earplugs for $1!

Why didnt I read the reviews first!

This is SO unbelievably annoying. Another reviewer wrote that this app exchanges some noise for MORE noise, which is exactly what it does. Even, consistent white/brown or whatever noise is better.

Does what I expected.

Creates a predictable sound that helps hide other sounds, which is as much as you can expect from an app and earbuds.
